What's The Definition Of The Medical Condition Somatostatinoma?
A rare somatostatin-secreting tumor of pancreatic delta cells associated with diabetes mellitus or abnormal glucose tolerance. It is also found in the intestine. Of the reported primary tumors, 60% were found in the pancreas and 40% in the duodenum or jejunum. Most patients were between 40 and 60 years of age with a 2:1 ratio of females to males.
